Grade 5 ふつう 10問

Fractions represent parts of a whole. The numerator (top) counts how many parts you have; the denominator (bottom) tells how many equal parts make the whole.

To add or subtract fractions with unlike denominators, find a common denominator first — usually the least common multiple (LCM). Then add or subtract the numerators while keeping the denominator the same.

To multiply fractions, multiply numerators together and denominators together. Simplify your final answer to lowest terms by dividing numerator and denominator by their GCF.
